HEALTH AND WELLNESS
Ballroom has a long history of advocacy regarding sexual health and wellness. For example, community leaders in New York City came together in 1989 to create The Latex Ball, which has become an annual event that brings together community partners to normalize and promote HIV prevention and testing.
The Rebound is proud to be working with Cascade AIDS Project (CAP) to bring testing and sexual health resources to the Portland community! CAP will be at each of our balls in 2026. We will be working with our venue partner and CAP to ensure that there is an on-site, private, and safe testing area during and before the ball.
CAP was founded in 1983 and is the oldest and largest community-based provider of HIV services, housing, education and advocacy in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
TESTING RESOURCESIn addition to providing support at our balls, CAP has three community testing sites in the Portland area. CAP works with uninsured clients and has several ways to help clients access FREE HIV testing.
